Color Study

I recently went to the Corcoran Gallery in D.C. to visit the traveling Chuck Close show. His prints are so good to see in person. The breakdown of his printing process and use of colors made color theory so obvious...applying it is the hard part :) I spent enough time in the lobby reading and decided to paint one of the marble busts lining the space. There is no blue used in any part of the piece, only tones of warm grays contrasting against the deep reds.
